Friday 14th 7.30am, a few days after our show, as I sit here in Wrocław Poland, in a wonderful AirBnB, I’m here attending the Porsche event Luftgekühlt but that’s for next website update! I’m still feeling amazed by the fantastic turnout and feedback for the Clique53 Classics show last Sunday.

Not too sure where to start, maybe the planning stage. Years ago I had high hopes that one day I could hold a classic car/bike event at Elvaston Castle, always envisaged using the East Avenue for a show rather than the showground that’s away from the castle, I made a few enquires back in 2018/19 and was told a firm no (and also the fee was very high) So that was that!

It wasn’t until back in October 2023 I saw a post on a popular Facebook group ‘Ashby classic and Vintage Vehicle meets‘ by the castle park manager inviting potential car clubs/groups to use the estate for events. I had to get in touch!

Fast forward to the day of the show, as we are not a ticketed event, its impossible to tell how many people were planning to attend, on the same day across the county was another ‘similar’ car show that was in many ways bigger than our show, many thought we was mad having our show on the same day as Wollaton but from experience like last year at our Holme Pierrepont show we needn’t have worried.

So what an amazing Sunday we had, during our meetings leading up to the show, we always said that being our first at a new venue that we would be happy with 100 vehicles, we ended up with over 180, weather was ok, the sun did make an appearance and we did get a few spots of rain but nothing deterred all those who attended.

We cant begin to thank you all, for supporting and believing in Clique53, some of you have followed us since 2013, its fantastic to have a community of like minded enthusiast from those that have been with us for a while to someone like Steven who I randomly met no more than a month ago  at a local petrol station when he filling up in his gorgeous Daimler 250 V8 and seeing all the cars gracing the East Avenue was an awesome sight, first time ever a classic show has been on that part of the castle grounds.

We had some truly awesome cars and bikes that arrived onto the East Avenue, 2 SL Pagoda’s both in stunning condition, and with the likes if other marques like TVR, Audi, VW, Porsche, Daimler, Lotus, Morgan, MG, Lancia, Renault, etc etc.

In all honesty the 2 vehicles that stole the show was the Field Marshal and Fordson tractors, both absolutely stunning to see, hear and smell!!
